March Meeting

Yet again we give thanks to God for our Dove Fellowship in Hamilton - for these mighty women of God in the core leadership Team who bring God's Love to us in such an uplifting, encouraging, life giving way each month. I thank God that I have been asked to write a little something about this month’s meeting as I can now express in writing my own heart felt appreciation to each of them - Wilma, Sue, Raewyn, Shirley, Nancy and Bernie,  Thanks for the care, the effort, the listening to God and the praying to God and the beauty you all bring to each of the meetings for the Glory of God and for our spiritual well being, allowing us the opportunity to grow more fully and deeply in our relationships with God and one another.

The guest speaker at tonight’s meeting was Ruth Clark who travelled from Tauranga to bring us a most enlightened teaching on an aspect of Dove's theme for this year "My Redeemer Lives". The verse Ruth was given to expound on was Job 19:25-27**"I know that my Redeemer lives............... ………………...…………..how my heart yearns within me"

Ruth took the time to give us an overview of Job and put this piece of Scripture into it's context which embodied it and gave it a much more full meaning for us to chew on and take away with us.
Two key points of her message were - Job's faith in his Redeemer in good times and in bad. Job knew God's great LOVE for him, knew by faith that he was LOVED, well LOVED, deeply LOVED by God. Secondly - no matter what circumstances his faith endured, he remained steadfast even when his "friends" came against him and criticised him and doubted his goodness and encouraged him to "take an easier way out of his troubles by lying" to appease his friends or his wife’s counsel "to curse God so he would die quickly and be put out of his misery?" But no Job's response was to forgive his friends, make atonement and pray for them.

Ruth's simple, relaxed yet enthusiastic manner of speaking helped me and I'm sure everyone else gathered there, to easily grasp and understand the message she had prepared so well to come and give us.

Thank you Ruth.
