May

A delightfully youthful witty Pat Subritsky introduced herself (she comes from a large family of ten brothers and two sisters) and her husband Bill ‘he comes in at the end where the vital bits happen – the people are going to get saved, are going to be joy filled with the Spirit and speak in tongues and get fixed up physically because God will do it through Bill’! Throughout the meeting Pat had amusing repartee with Bill who sat in the front row.

Pat’s message focused on the sinful and sin swept world we live in.  How easily we are drawn into sin and wander aimlessly without any direction and are tossed to and fro by our own fleshly desires – until we realise we have to reach out for something more.

Often we are only lukewarm and ineffective in the world we live in, like dead wood that cannot be lit.   Pat reflected years ago she was just like that.  She was doing her best but then God transformed her and Bill by the power of his Holy Spirit and restored their marriage.  As Pat succinctly put it ‘God gave her a new husband and He became the centre of their marriage’ and their children were also influenced by the standards they set.

Pat sensed that many of the women present needed to find the right path.  Many needed clear direction in their lives, healing (including deliverance from Satanic attack), were concerned about money matters, their marriages etc. and she encouraged them to act now and not waste the afternoon.   She also picked up that some had been involved in the occult, fortune telling, lucky charms, new age and were prideful and all these things had separated us from our loving and compassionate God.

Bill then stepped up and asked the Holy Spirit to speak to each one of us individually.  How would we look if we stood before God today?  Are we ready to be there or are we still in that state of separation from the Lord?   Perhaps we have a wrong attitude – plus all of the things that Pat had mentioned in her talk separate us from God.  Bill urged us to surrender old stuff and let go of it so that God could step in and do a new thing.  Bill then led the women in a prayer of repentance and salvation and asked Father Kevin Connors to give absolution.

He then encouraged all those who did not speak in tongues to come forward and the women were prayed with not only by Bill but each and every one was partnered with other women who had the gift of tongues.

Prayer cloths were then handed out and Bill demonstrated with three of the women the presence of the Holy Spirit not only on the prayer cloths but also on other items.

After this Bill commenced his deliverance ministry and was kept busy right up until the time of his departure to catch the plane back to Auckland.
